Adams Observatory

24-inch (0.61-m) reflector

The Adams Observatory 24-inch telescope sits on top of Austin College's science builing, the IDEA Center. The telescope is used for classes, research, and outreach. It was built by DFM Engineering.

Instrumentation:

  • FLI ProLine 16803 imager, with filter sets:
  • Shelyak Lhires III spectrograph
    • Littrow configuration
    • interchangeable slits (most used: 35 μm)
    • interchangeable gratings (most used: 1200 gr/mm)
  • ZWO ASI 120MM CMOS camera.
    • Has been used for planetary snapshot imaging and stellar occultation by Pluto
    • Could also be used for speckle interferometry
